H2S Removal Solutions
BIOGAS TREATMENT
Being a complete technology provider for Biogas, J&F biogas also focuses on biogas purification and upgradation solutions. It aims at removing unfavourable gases bringing close to 100 percent methane purity. With profound engineering, J&F biogas caters to client requirements offering suitable technology having competitive Opex and Capex.
Methane as a fuel
Biogenic methane produced from organic material is a source of green energy. The waste gas generated from semi-dry fermentation of J&F biogas constitutes mainly Methane (CH4) and Carbon dioxide (CO2). H2S in ppm and other gases with negligible values are also present.
Purification aims at removing Hydrogen sulphide to stop corrosion whereas upgradation removes Carbon dioxide to attain the required purity of Biomethane. Biomethane hence generated can be an alternative for automobile fuel, can be used in engines, boilers or injected into the grid. Hence, Suitable technologies are chosen for producing quality methane of required purity.
Biogas Purification technologies
Choosing the right technology for biogas purification is crucial to guarantee process efficiency and better outputs. We at J&F Biogas evaluate each technology, the purification system is suggested for the best outcomes in terms of cost of production and efficiency.
Wet and Dry scrubbing
H2S is generally removed from waste gas in any process industry to retard corrosion effects. We offer wet and dry-type scrubbers with negligible downtime maximising the efficiency. The ppm can be brought close to 5 or less as per the end client’s requirement. The technical team of J&F Biogas decides the suitability of the system depending on the biogas composition.
A wet-type scrubber uses the chemical caustic solution to remove H2S whereas the dry-type scrubber deploys superior ACF (Activated carbon), ferrous oxide or competitive adsorbents that do the job. A water wash compliments the system which strips off the particles and a negligible amount of CO2 depending upon the type of scrubber used.
Features:
- Zero Downtime
- Capable to handle H2S fluctuation
- Efficiency of desulphurization > 85%
- Simple and Compact skid
- Turn Off and Turn on under no availability of gas
Biochemical Scrubbing
Hydrogen sulphide (H2S) in biogas of larger values is reduced to 25 ppm by Biochemical Scrubbing. The H2S removal efficiency of a biochemical system is relatively high with the capacity to treat around 1000 – 200000 ppm. The regeneration of the spent caustic is an added advantage of a biochemical system with savings in operating costs.
When it comes to system turndown, the system offered by J&F Biogas can handle huge fluctuations of gas. Since the process adds no Oxygen or Air, the biogas calorific value is not compromised. The gas generated can be further enriched using suitable upgradation technology.
The minimal bleed stream from a biochemical scrubber poses no particular concern to the environment. The organic fertilizer or Bio-sulphur, a byproduct of the Biochemical scrubber is another plus along with the Pure biogas generated. The increased biogas value and the provision of plant sustainability make the technology widely recognised.
Features:
- System can handle large fluctuations in gas flow and wide turn-down
- Very high H2S removal efficiency > 90%
- High-quality organic fertilizer production
- Suitable for ppm range from 1000 – 200000
- Sustainable solution with regeneration
Biological Scrubbing
Biological scrubbing is an eco-friendly scrubbing technology suitable for Biogas generation plants with moderate presence of sulphur in the gas stream. It's important to know that a biological scrubber is suitable where the Sulphur load fluctuation is less or minimum. The system guarantees 98% sulphur removal with the help of oxidising bacteria grown on a trickling filter or filling medium. The system has less maintenance and downtime and is successfully used depending on the Oxygen limiting conditions for biogas at outlet. However, the technology fits in Biogas plants where H2S levels are lesser or near to 1000 ppm.
Features:
- Eco-friendly system suitable for lesser sulphur load fluctuations.
- Very high H2S removal efficiency > 85%
- No blockage scrubber media for Oxidation
- Lower operating expenditure and lesser utility requirement
